Musings of An Old Man

UNTOLD MEMORIES OF PHYLLIS

When I started these writings I had planned to tell my memories just as they were so that they would be real memories not doctored up, watered down versions of what really happened. I have done this in all of the preceding stories. In some cases I have warned the reader that this particular writing may push the bounds of propriety. But I have told it as it was.

Now, I find that there are some wonderful memories that I can’t do this with. These memories just have to remain private between Phyllis and me.

Although the purpose of this book is to give permanence to my memories of Phyllis, these particular memories will die with me.

My decision on which memories not to tell is based on, “Would it be OK with Phyllis if I told this?”

The picture that appears with this writing is among my favorites. It were taken behind Devils Gate Dam, north of Pasadena, shortly before we were married.
