Musings of An Old Man

IT'S OK TO TALK ABOUT PHYLLIS

Frequently people notice that when the conversation turns to Phyllis, I tear up and choke up, and they will say, “Oh, I’m sorry.” They feel that they have caused me grief by making me think about Phyllis.

I want people to know that it’s OK to talk about Phyllis. My memories of Phyllis are all that I have of her. I revel in them.

Although it hurts to think about her, it also brings feelings of happiness and thankfulness that I had her so completely and for so long.

So, don’t hold back. Talk about Phyllis much and often. It will hurt, but it will also bring consolation.
